Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!

Members Of The Warren Hills School Community:
Whether you are a seasoned school community member of Warren Hills or a newcomer to our district, on behalf of the entire Middle School and District staff, I would like to personally welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year!
My name is Nicholas Remondelli, and I am proud to be the principal of Warren Hills Middle School. For close to two years, I have had the honor and pleasure of calling Warren Hills Middle School my home, first as the Assistant Principal and now as the Principal. I can think of no other place that I would rather be; our staff is comprised of the most dedicated, talented professionals who work tirelessly to provide the best education for our students; their commitment to our school and greater school community is unwavering and can never be understated.
One of my professional goals this year is to enhance communication with all of our community stakeholders: parents, students, and the community. In doing so, it is my hope that we can continue to strengthen our commitment to building the best environment for our students. To that end, each month I will publish through the website a new “From the Principal’s Desk” that will highlight the great things that we have going on in our middle school, communicate relevant information, and alert you to important upcoming events. Look for it to be published on the Middle School website by the first of each month beginning in October. Lastly, I will be utilizing our school’s Twitter and Facebook feeds to communicate as well. If you haven’t already, please be sure to subscribe!
I also employ an open door policy throughout the school year. With that being said, if classroom concerns should arise throughout the school year, it is always best to first contact the classroom teacher or department supervisor first; many concerns can be addressed and resolved at this level.
This summer we have been planning for an exciting school year. In September, we will be kicking off our 1:1 Chromebook initiative that will put a computer in every student’s hands every day that they are in school. Not only will this provide our students with access to the technology that will enhance their learning, but it will open up the four walls of the classroom to provide new opportunities for learning. What an incredible learning opportunity that this will provide for our students! If you have not signed the digital form, please consider doing so through Genesis before the start of the school year.
This fall also sees the Middle School launching our dedicated Makerspace room, an inventive space where students can collaborate, create, and invent for a variety of purposes across a range of disciplines. Initially dedicated to supporting the Schoolwide Enrichment Model, the plan is for this space to continue to grow and provide new opportunities for all of our students to experience. To learn more about Makerspaces, watch this brief video by clicking here that provides a brief explanation and highlights its benefits.
In all, I am looking forward to all of the exciting, new opportunities that this school year will bring and welcome you on this journey with us as we embark on the most successful school year yet!
Warmest regards,
Nicholas Remondelli
