Dear WH Community,
The most recent guidance from the Warren County Department of Health encourages school districts to cancel all non-essential field trips. In the guidance received this morning, Pete Summers of the Warren County Health Department stated,
“Based on what we are seeing, I believe it is prudent for me to recommend the Warren County schools consider canceling out of district field trips whenever possible. I understand that this is a difficult decision for you and a disappointing one for your students. But taking this action will not only protect your students, but also the community at large. By reducing the number of large groups meeting up with other large groups we reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading from community to community. Canceling these trips won’t stop the spread of the disease, but it could slow it down.”
At this time, the Warren Hills Regional School District will follow the prescribed guidance and cancel field trips until further notice. This directive will include cancellation of the Fan Bus to the NJSIAA State Basketball Game this afternoon. Students who are scheduled for a field trip in the near future, will be provided further direction and instruction from their teacher/advisor.
I ask that you continue to follow the prescribed preventive measures of hand washing for at least 20 seconds, coughing/sneezing into your sleeve, frequent cleaning of surfaces and if your child(ren) exhibits any type of cold symptom, please keep them home. Student absences, accompanied with a Dr. or parent note indicating the absence was due to illness will be excused absences.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and continued cooperation as we work to keep our school and community safe and healthy
Earl C. Clymer, III
Superintendent of Schools
