Academic Word Finder - Achievethecore.org

Tier Two vocabulary frequently appears on the PARCC assessment.  This is academic vocabulary that is common to all disciplines, and its acquisition is crucial to achieving college and career ready literacy.  Once the user signs up for a free account, the user places any text he or she wants into the tool's window.  The user then selects the grade level Tier Two vocabulary that he or she is searching for in the passage.  Academic Word finder then locates all of that Tier Two vocabulary and presents the user with definitions, parts of speech, and examples of the use of the word.  Users can also see Tier Two vocabulary that is below and above grade level from the same passage.  Beyond PARCC assessments this tool can help all student become more proficient readers.   Please click here to be brought to the Achievethecore.org Academic Word Finder.
