NOTICE OF PESTICIDE APPLICATION

The Office of Pesticide Programs of the United States Environmental Protection Agency has stated: “Where possible, persons who potentially are sensitive, such as pregnant women, infants, and children, should avoid any unnecessary pesticide exposure.”

Location of the pesticide application:     Spray  all  common  ground  areas,  including  the  MS  &  the lower  softball  fields  at  High  School                                                

Reason for the pesticide application:     Broadleaf  weed  control

Description of the possible adverse effects of the pesticides as per the Material Safety Data Sheets for the pesticides to be used, if available:

 

 

Pesticide(s) product-label instructions and precautions related to Public Safety:

Call poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. If in eyes: flush with plenty of water. Remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes. If swallowed: do not induce vomiting; do not give anything by mouth if unconscious. On skin or clothing: take off contaminated clothing; rinse skin immediately with water. If inhaled: move to fresh air in case of inhalation of vapors or decomposition products.

Do not enter application areas for at least 72 hours after application ends.

 

REMEMBER: Whenever a non-low impact pesticide is used on school property there is also a Restricted Entry Interval (REI) that begins when the pesticide applications ends. This Restricted Entry Interval lasts for seven hours unless the product label uses NUMERIC LANGUAGE, e.g., 4 hours or 12 hours; directing a longer or shorter period of time for Restricted Entry. If the product label does not discuss Restricted Entry, the period of time defaults to seven (7) hours.
