Bark
Dear Warren Hills Parents/Guardians,
As students’ lives become increasingly digital, the Warren Hills Regional School District recognizes the need to keep our students safe online. In fall 2021, the Warren Hills Regional School District partnered with the Bark student self-harm notification system as part of the district’s broader suicide prevention program.
Bark helps notify the Warren Hills Regional School District’s counselors and/or other school support staff if the system detects that a child searches, creates, views, or interacts with online content that could be related to suicide or self-harm. Because of this, Bark helps the Warren Hills Regional School District detect and intervene when a child may be at risk of suicide or self-harm.
It is important to know that neither the Warren Hills Regional School District nor Bark can possibly detect every situation when a child is suicidal.
The Warren Hills Regional School District will notify parents or guardians at the number associated with the child on the Warren Hills Regional School District’s Genesis student information system. Please make sure for Bark and otherwise that our system has your correct email address and phone number on file at all times. Email address and phone number updates can be completed in Genesis Parent Portal on the Contacts tab.
Thank you for partnering with us to enhance our student safety protocols. If you have any questions, please refer to Board of Education Policy and Regulation 5350 for our district suicide prevention policy and/or contact your building principal.
