• Warren Hills film students walk red carpet at Montclair Film Festival

    Two Warren Hills Regional High School students attended the Montclair Film Festival recently, to receive their Certificates of Achievement at the red-carpet ceremony. Tim Connolly and Miles Tilley, along with their classmate Emily Handley (who was not present at the ceremony), were named the MFF Kidz Shortz Visionaries Grand Prize winners for their short film, "Closure."

    Their film was screened at the Bellvue Cinema in Upper Montclair, followed by The Stars on the Green Afterparty. The afterparty was an opportunity for student filmmakers to discuss their films with one another and with their audience. The ceremony was also attended by the students' families and their film design teacher, Richard Patricia.

  • Warren Hills Regional FFA Chapter places in veterinary science event

    The Warren Hills Future Farmers of America (FFA) Veterinary Science Career Development Event Team placed in the annual competition on April 16. The event was held on the New Brunswick campus of Rutgers University. Seventeen teams and 63 individuals were scored during the competition.

  • Warren Hills student journalist captures N.J.'s top honor

    Megan McGaha likes finding out about people.

    "I like getting to talk to people individually and expose their personal stories," says the Warren Hills Regional High School senior.

    McGaha, who plans on attending Centenary College in Hackettstown in the fall, was honored Thursday night as New Jersey's high school journalist of the year and winner of the New Jersey Press Foundation's prestigious 2015 Bernard Kilgore Memorial Scholarship.

  • Stateliner Spring Classic in Phillipsburg (photos)

    The Phillipsburg High School class of 2016 launched the inaugural Stateliner Spring Classic on Sunday morning at Maloney Stadium.

    The fundraising event included a 5K run/walk and a children's run run.

    There were 130 participants, which includes runners and walkers. The money goes to the class of 2016 to offset various expenses during the senior year.

  • Warren Hills superintendent leaving district for Catholic school job

    Some would call it a job opportunity.

    Thomas Altonjy calls it "divine intervention."

    The superintendent of the Warren Hills Regional School District for the last four years, Altonjy will be retiring from public education this summer to take a role as principal at a Catholic school in Bergen County.

  • WATCH: Warren Hills robotics team heads to worldwide FIRST championship

    WASHINGTON TWP.-- Facing 608 teams from across the United States and 10 countries including Taiwan, Israel, Brazil and the Netherlands, the Warren Hills Regional High School robotics team is heading to the FIRST Robotics World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri this month.

    Competing since 1999, Warren Hills Team Impact has won several awards including two Xerox Creativity Awards in 2008 and 2010, an Engineering Excellence Award in 2012 and one Judges Award in 2014, but this year is the teams first time heading to the world championship event held at the Edward Jones Dome.

  • Warren Hills Regional film students win first place in film festival

    The first place winner of the seventh annual Kent Place Film Festival was among three Warren Hills Regional High School Film Design students who submitted their work.

    Senior Brady DeAngeles won the first place jury award for his film, "Spirit Bane." His film is about a young man who finds a powerful sword called Spirit Bane that gives him great powers resulting in grave consequences.

  • W.H.R.M.S. students present program to Warren County Municipal Alliance

    Six Warren Hills Regional Middle School peer leaders in Washington recently presented their experience with the "Above the Influence" program to coordinators at the Warren County Municipal Alliance.

    "Above the Influence" is a national, hands-on campaign for drug prevention that aims to "help teens stand up to negative pressures or influences."

  • Warren Hills students to put business skills to the test in DECA national competition

    The business world is fast-paced and filled with difficult decisions.

    Some Warren Hills Regional High School students tested those skills last month in the DECA state competition against hundreds of others, and a small group will be heading to the next level.

    Sophomore Jonathan Rosenblum, junior David Maxson and senior Tyler Henning received top-three placements and senior David Blyd placed in the top 10 in the competition Feb. 22-24 in Cherry Hill, N.J.
