    Course Descriptions: {from Warren Hills Program of Studies 2015-2016}

    APES: Prerequisite: Teacher recommendation. To enter this course, a student should have earned a grade of 85 or better in CP Algebra II and in previous CP Environmental Science or Honors Biology courses.The AP Environmental Science course is lab/inquiry-based and includes a field investigation component.The goal of the course is to “provide students with the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologiesrequired to understand the interrelationships of the natural world; to identify and analyze environmental problems both natural and human-made, to evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and to examine alternative solutions for resolving or preventing them” (CollegeBoard Course Description). This full-year course is designed to be the equivalent of a one-semester, introductory college course.  It is expected that students enrolled in this course will take the AP Environmental Science exam. (6-credit course)

    Anatomy & Physiology:  Honors A & P is an inquiry/lab-based study of the human body integrating structure and function in clinical applications and critical thinking approaches. This course is for students interested in pursuing a career in medical fields (i.e. nutrition, nursing, medical doctor, etc.) biological fields, or who are interested in understanding the human body. 



        The student textbook is a great resource for clarification. However, please check the links along the left side of the screen in order to access notes, worksheets, and assignments that a student may need.
    How to get extra help:
      Please do not hesitate to ask for help! I am available during lunch and after school most days, but please schedule a time to meet with me. 
    About Mrs. Helle:
          I am an alumna of Warren Hills. I graduated from Cedar Crest College with degrees in both Biology and Secondary Education. This is my 5th year teaching here at WH.
